The WATER2025 project consisted of the construction of a new drinking water treatment facility in replacement of their aging water treatment facility. Our team paid close attention to the client’s priorities during meetings prior to the RFP landing and we kept that same mentality once the RFP advertised. We sought out what was most important to the client and explored our relationships with other firms who were also in touch with the client to ensure each client voice was going to be heard and that we had covered all of our bases. We heard the client loud and clear, they wanted the “A-Team.”
Thinking outside of the box, together!
The need for our pursuit teams to think outside-of-thebox and bring unique strategies/attributes to the pursuit process is important, as well as unique ways to market these in proposals—that’s why, in our WATER2025 proposal, we created a unique “stamp” tailored to the project that was centered around being a good, reliable partner and proposing our “A-Team.” We used this stamp throughout the proposal that correlated with the project goals that our team then provided specific solutions on, while aligning our goals with the City’s project goals.
Out with the boilerplate narratives
With Garney’s ongoing competition within the industry, topnotch and tailored proposal content is a must, in addition to our client relationships and past experience. Knowing this and striving to stand above the competition, our team wrote specifically to the City’s project goals on our cover letter and related those back to the client’s project name of “WATER2025” and our unique stamp we developed for the project. Additionally, on each proposal tab that introduced each new section, we highlighted which project goals within the stamp that the section addressed. Each section conveyed the importance of each goal and proposed solutions to achieve them. Our goal was to continually remind the client throughout the proposal that we wanted to be an extension of their organization, partner with them, and let all of their ideas be heard to deliver a water treatment facility each of them were proud of.
